2016 Summer Experience Program Position: Sport Event Communications
The Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) is pleased to offer a summer employment opportunity to a post-secondary student continuing studies on a full-time basis in September.
Primary responsibilities involve a communications function, with an emphasis on writing and editing in both print and digital environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing and editing content for Ontario Lacrosse Magazine
- Updating media resources for the Ontario Lacrosse Festival
- Creating event promotional materials
- Creating, updating and managing website content
- Managing content on a digital Scoreboard Alert Service
- Co-ordinating game statistics compilation
- Updating Facebook and Twitter properties with news and events
- Content management of Ontario Lacrosse Festival website
This position is a twelve-week contract beginning May 30th. Deadline for Application: Tuesday, May 17th, 2016. Salary: $11.25 per hour Work Week: 36 hours
Qualifications
- Preferred academic area of study: journalism or communications
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word Suite and Adobe Photoshop
- Great organization and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Availability to work in Durham Region (Ontario) Friday, July 29th-Sunday, August 7th
- Three published articles and/or writing samples
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
