Job Description:
POSITION DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Property Coordinator, work with the immediate supervisor and Shipper & Receiver to provide an efficient program of mail services for City Hall and other related corporate locations. Externally, work with vendors and other similar services to refine the program to ensure it is cost effective and efficient.
- Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing goods against invoices or other documents. Record shortages and reject damaged goods. Adhere to corporate expectations, procedures and industry standards.
- Sort and group internal and external mail at City Hall.
- Prepare external mail for courier pick-up.
- Operate postage machine.
- Ensure the safe handling of all parcels and packed goods.
- Affix the required identifying information & shipping instructions.
- Comply with Canada Post regulations.
- Assist with maintaining internal record keeping system(s).
- Ensure excellent customer service. Assist with tracking and monitoring shipping timelines, managing multiple requests and resolving problems as required.
- Unpack, inspect, sort and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances.
- Assist in maintaining the mail, shipping & receiving spaces in a tidy and efficient manner.
- Operate hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
- Performs additional similar and related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Over six (6) months of related experience, preferred
- Non probationary class G drivers license
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
** Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.
